(Health-NewsWire.Net, February 25, 2015 ) Los Angeles, California -- Strength training brings thoughts of weights and workout machines but never resistance bands. Because resistance bands are not so well-known to most people yet, Chris Moal of Trained Sports reveals why these crossfit resistance bands are beneficial over weights and machines.
Moal believes that resistance bands are great choices for people who travel. Resistance bands are also good for people who are constantly looking for ways to add challenge into their workouts.
"People sometimes feel different with the resistance provided by resistance bands. When working out with weights, there is always that added force due to gravity. Due to this, a person feels more resistance when bringing the weights up than when they are brought down. But with bands, the tension usually stays the same and most people find this challenging," Moal explains.
Crossfit resistance bands are usually similar to cable machines, making a person use the same tension to the muscles. In order to have the band aligned all throughout the exercise, one also needs stabilizer muscles. This is where old workout exercises seem new and more challenging.
Resistance bands differ from machines and dumbbells. It is simple enough to determine the weights being lifted but with bands, only the tension is felt and measured.
But Moal says that this does not mean that a person is not doing a good workout with resistance bands. He says that with a suitable tension level and good posture, a person can surely take advantage of resistance bands when incorporated into his workout routine.
Resistance bands may also add variety into a workout routine due to their ability to be used in all directions.
