(Health-NewsWire.Net, April 11, 2015 ) Westendorf, Tirol -- Unlike generations past who made carefully referenced itineraries and planned trips months in advance, today's population is ready to throw a bottle of antifungal soap in their carry-on and head for destinations unknown at a moment's notice. Spontaneous trips are so attractive to millennials that according to a Priceline.com survey, 69 percent of respondents said they were willing to lie for time off work to travel.
"Whether it's domestic or international travel, people can come into contact with a wide variety of fungi, bacteria and viruses that can make them miserable when they get back home," said Helga Riedmann, founder of Mountainbreeze Naturals. " An antifungal soap works to help protect travelers from contagious agents they may encounter."
In the Priceline survey, 78 percent indicated they were ready for a last minute trip in 2015 and Expedia found that for 84 percent, smartphones made the process easier. Riedmann's firm has the antifungal soap for travel and to assist those looking for spur-of-the-moment travel options, she named the following apps to assist in finding inexpensive bookings.
• Hitlist – offers an intuitive interface for iOS and Android with listings from the user's closest airport, along with information on the user's friends in various cities. It will also monitor for destinations individuals want to visit.
• Hopper's GTFO – available for iOS, users enter their departure airport and the app returns a list of destinations and prices. Bookings are through Travelocity.
• Skiplagged – features extremely low airfares and was even the target of litigation by Orbitz and United for its low prices. It does require more than a couple of hours' notice to be optimally effective.
Those born in the early 1980s to 2000s are responsible for boosting travel by 20 percent, a figure that's not lost on the tourism industry. In addition to special fares for air travel, destination hotels are offering apps to book accommodations and ensuring Wi-Fi is available for individuals to share their experiences with friends and family.
According to the Priceline.com survey, 55 percent of millennials seek last minute travel with their significant other. While a getaway weekend is romantic, contracting an unpleasant fungal or bacterial infection is not. Armed with a change of clothes and the Mountainbreeze Naturals antifungal soap, millennials will be ready for anything life brings their way.
