(Health-NewsWire.Net, May 06, 2015 ) Miami, FL -- Bringing her expertise in the home health industry to the podium, Lisa Kaufman, owner of Boca Home Care, Boca Home Care Services and Jewish Home Care Services of Miami-Dade, spoke at the Medstar Washington Hospital sponsored Continuing Medical Education CME April 2015 conference at Miami's Fontainebleau. The purpose of this conference, called "Paradigms in Medicine" was to enable representatives of various health specialties to share their knowledge and expertise. Ms. Kaufman has more than 20 years of experience in the post acute home care industry, in both private and government reimbursement services. She earned her MBA in health care from Lynn University and now sits on the board of the Florida Private Care Association. The topic of her speech was called "After the Patient is Discharged from the Hospital", where she discussed how physicians and medical professionals can partner with outpatient and home care services to minimize re-hospitalizations. The conference lasted four days, from April 4-7. In addition to Ms. Kaufman, the conference included a number of speakers of various specialties including Scott Frank, MD FHRS, who discussed GERD, Richard Kaminker,MD FHRS who spoke on osteoporosis and the latest advances in medical therapy in 2015. Session two included Michele Cohen, MD, speaking about in-utero fetal diagnostics and Shaun Honig, MD, discussing interventional radiology. The following two sessions included a forty minute lecture by Ms.Kaufman, followed, the next day, by Andrew E.Blustein, Esq, who spoke about the most recent changes to HIPPA and what physicians need to know today.
The event's group leader was Jay A. Mazel, MD FHRS, a Cardiac electrophysiologist at Medstar Cardiology Associates. Dr, Mazel also served as Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratory at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC.
