This is non-profit event which is celebrated annually.
The festival is also aiming to have a friendly beer festival in North-America. Festival attendees are using compostable corn starch glasses to get beer sample. These glasses are made from domestically grown crown from a solar-powered company. The event organizers have also provided some onsite composting and recycling stations for festival wasted. Food vendors are also asked to use same organic products for their plates and cutlery. For the electricity, a combination of biodiesel and solar generators will be used. It is said that volunteers wear cotton and hemp clothing. The signage on the area is reusable as well.
The NAOBF started and was organized in 2003 at Port Halling Brewing in Gresham, Oregon by Craig Nicholls. The festival then took a 24-months hiatus when Nichole opened his first certified all organic brewery in Oregon. Although the event is about promoting organics, animals are not allowed on the event except for the service animals.
