The move to offer a discount a day after the launch is intended to kickstart sales of the new product; a plan which mirrors NeoSleeve’s initial product launch for their iPhone 5 armband in 2014. NeoSleeve has, however, had past issues with stocks being prematurely wiped out, so it is unknown how long this sale price will last. The company is hopeful that they will be able to drive a large number of sales during the launch period in order to spark the strong momentum that Amazon rewards with further consumer web traffic.
NeoSleeve claims they are able to offer discounts easily in part due to their harnessing the power of Amazon's own Fulfilment By Amazon (FBA) services, which also maximizes their efficiency. Their first product, an armband for the iPhone 5, was NeoSleeve's first foray into FBA and the company has now permanently adopted the model, as it offers lower costs and faster shipping, whilst freeing up a lot of time for the company's own staff to commit to customer service.
The 30% discount, although not as much as other brands, will still certainly be large enough to attract a variety of customers, as NeoSleeve's premium image has managed to stand firm while its competitors competed for sales in a price war, thus sacrificing their own images.
