"Many dentists in North America have the skills and the experience to treat patients with their dental problems, but that's not enough," warns Cindy Ishimoto, whose work as a dental consultant and speaker for dental offices and organizations span more than 35 years. "There are also leadership responsibilities to consider, and an office is also a business organization as well."
As a dental consultant, part of Cindy Ishimoto's job is to coach, guide, mentor, and empower dentists and their staff personnel to achieve their goals. The dentists and the dental teams can improve their efficiency and effectiveness, so that the patients, the doctors, the team members, and the office itself can also thrive.
"Sometimes a dentist who heads the practice must be mindful of their leadership duties," says Ishimoto. "Not only should they work effectively with their team members, but they should also know how to unite a team and motivate them into doing their best."
Dentists with their own dental practices have other responsibilities than just extracting and replacing teeth, according to Canada dental speaker, Ishimoto. "It also means knowing what to do when there are fewer or too many patients, when insurance companies are not being helpful, and when the economy is struggling."
Dental practices also often face challenges and problems that are not really covered by dental schools. "We help solve these types of problems when they come up," assures Ishimoto. "Our expertise includes giving concrete advice regarding serving the patients' needs, managing employees, coming up with proper SOP procedures, and overseeing services and equipment."
A dentist in North America may want to know the ramifications of broadening the services or specializing in a specific branch of dentistry. The consequences of new partnerships and new employees may also be discussed. New ways of operating may also be discussed to help a dental practice survive through the lean years.
North America dentistry speaker clients can have the dental consultant on site for the One Year Practice Excellence Program. The Focused Coaching Services may also be available online, with communications held through Skype and email support in addition to team meetings and telephone conversations.
