(Health-NewsWire.Net, June 06, 2015 ) Miami, Florida -- This year on the 28th May, saw the advent of the nineteenth World Play Day. World Play Day is the brainchild of Dr. Freda Kim, who, on becoming president of ITLA (International Toy Library Association) in 1996, decided she must make her mark as president and the idea of a World Play Day was born.
Cayley Smit, of Soulunar, was delighted to announce on World Play Day, that Soulunar will be donating $1 from the sale of every running band or flip belt to Cotlands in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Cotlands was founded in 1936 and its sole aim is to help vulnerable children from the age of 0 to 6 thrive in difficult circumstances by providing various forms of support.
Jackie Schoeman, CEO of Cotlands, said of World Play Day, "World Play Day is an opportunity to re-emphasise the importance of play in a child's development. Play is a fundamental right for all children and it is imperative that we allow children to be children and to enjoy discovering the world about them."
Each year World Play Day has a different theme which is chosen by the International Toy Library Association. This year the theme was ‘Play is Fun'. Jackie Schoeman said, "Play is a vital part of the learning process and early learning forms the foundation for later learning. A lack of early learning opportunities prevents vulnerable children from excelling academically in their later years."
Thirty countries throughout the world joined in World Play Day and Soulunar was delighted to be able to celebrate with them.
