(Health-NewsWire.Net, June 17, 2015 ) West Palm Beach, FL -- According to The Sun Sentinel, a Fort Lauderdale woman was found with flakka after calling 911 to report that a man whom she planned to purchase drugs from tok her money.
The Fort Lauderdale woman, Danesha Heller, 19, was arrested with charges of drug possession of PVP and misusing the emergency 911 system.
According to the arrest affidavit, the woman informed the reporting officer that a man by the name of Zakan Allan robbed her for her $5 that she had been planning to use for a drug purchase. Heller claims that she went to Allan's home to buy marijuana, however he tok her money and did not distribute her the marijuana she intended to buy.
"He got my money, and I want my drugs. Can you send an officer?" Heller told a 911 dispatcher.
According to reports, when police arrived to the scene to take Heller into custody, she appeared to be angry and talking to herself. A witness from the community revealed that Heller was often seen walking around the neighborhood looking for drugs.
The reporting officer found a small bag of what appeared to be drugs in Heller's front pocket. After testing the white substance found in Heller's pocket, results showed that it tested positive for Alpha-PVP, commonly referred to as flakka.
Heller remained in jail without bond due to violating the terms of her release on an unrelated misdemeanor battery report, according to Heller's jail records.
A medical associate from West Palm Drug Rehab comments "It is completely absurd the stories that are surfacing involving flakka. Now that the drug has become a trend in Florida, more and more people are using it and even more absurd stories are being reported. This incident goes to show how drugs can inhibit a person's ability to make wise decisions. People who don't know the effects of drug may think "why would she call the police to report being robbed during a drug deal? a drug deal for $5." Unfortunately, drugs tend to make people lose self control, over time individuals who use drugs will start to be controlled by the drugs. I have no doubt that danesha Heller was more than likely under the influence of drugs when making that call. I am hopeful that we can get flakka off the streets of Florida and that we can help put an end to the high rates of substance abuse in our nation."
