(Health-NewsWire.Net, July 13, 2015 ) Philadelphia, PA -- According to The Associated Press, the organization collected documents from Bill Cosby's testimony in 2005 in relation to a sexual-abuse case. The case was a result of Andrea Constand, one of Cosby's colleagues from Temple University, accusing Cosby of sexual abuse.
Cosby testified in 2005 that he did in fact obtain quaaludes, a synthetic nervous system depressant drug which induces drowsiness, with the intentions of drugging women whom he wanted to have sex with. Cosby also admitted in the testimony that he had drugged at least one woman and "other people", according to the court documents obtained by The Associated Press.
The 77-year-old comedian testified that he gave Constand three half-pills of Benadryl. However, Constand's defense team believes Cosby used another drug and two women who testified on behalf of Constand claim they were knowingly given quaaludes. The sexual-abuse lawsuit involving Cosby and Constand had settled for undisclosed terms in 2006, according to the Associated Press.
Cosby has been accused by over two dozen women of sexual offenses, many of the allegations claim that Cosby drugged and raped his accusers. The sexual misconduct allegations in which Cosby has been linked to dates back to as far as four decades ago. However, Cosby has not faced any criminal charges in relation to the accusations, many of the accusations had been barred due to statutes of limitations.
Due to the influx of sexual misconduct accusations Cosby has been faced with, he has resigned from Temple University's board of trustees where he was a popular face in the school's ads, fundraising campaigns, and speeches, according to The Associated Press.
A medical associate from Drug Rehab Philadelphia comments "I hope this current scenario which Bill Cosby is being faced with that people open their eyes to the dangers and consequences of drugging and raping people. Bill Cosby was a very influential man who probably assumed because of his status that he couldn't be touched or he could use money to keep his victims quiet. However, this scenario goes to show that the law is serious about cracking down on people who are using drugs as a means to rape people. It's quite sad that in today's society we hear so many stories of young women being drugged and raped, it's unfair and it's very disheartening. I would like to think that with this Bill Cosby scandal going on that men will realize that it's not okay to drug women for sex and that they should cancel out thoughts of ever doing so, especially in the college and club scene."
