(Health-NewsWire.Net, July 18, 2015 ) Clearwater, Florida -- AccessTone announces the release of their newest iPhone 6 armband for running, biking and working out. Part of their iSportsBand Series, this new armband boasts a design not yet seen in the sports armband world: houndstooth.
"We wanted to come up with something no one else has", said Ed Clark, CEO of AccessTone. "It's covered in houndstooth. This is in stark contrast to the vast majority of sports and running armbands, which are usually black, pink or some other solid color. Houndstooth is a very popular pattern and so we thought ‘why not give folks an opportunity of have a very functional armband that also would help them stand out at the gym?'"
Sometimes referred to as "iPhone arm cases", AccessTone develops and markets a line of armbands for Apple® iPhone 4, Apple iPhone 5 (all versions) and Apple iPhone 6. (Per Clark, a version for the 6-Plus is slated to be released later this year.) These armbands are used by runners, bikers, weight lifters and others, amateur and pro, to allow them to have a convenient place to hold their smartphone so they can listen to their own music while working out.
AccessTone sports armbands are designed so that the iPhone fits inside the holder alone, or with a slim phone case still on it. The user should remove medium-size or larger cases before placing the iPhone inside the armband. But that's common and is not a bad thing, per Clark. AccessTone recommends that users remove the phone from any case when using an armband, because a phone in a case and also inside an armband adds unnecessary bulk to the side of the arm during a workout. The AccessTone arm holder is designed to provide protection for iPhones anyway, as it is water-resistant and the Neoprene of the armband can help dissipate the shock of impacts, provided that the phone is fully and correctly inserted in the armband.
All AccessTone armbands include a touch-sensitive, clear cover, so that the user can use the device for music and/or exercising apps while working out. They also include a key holder (for a locker or house key) and a slot for the earbuds cord to plug into the phone. Each AccessTone armband has an adjustable strap to accommodate a wide range of arm sizes from very small to very large. The basic strap can be set as large as 14 inches in diameter. But if that's not large enough, anyone who has purchased an AccessTone armband may contact the company for a free strap extender that can accommodate massive arms up to about 20 inches.
Clark says AccessTone armbands, including the new houndstooth design, are available on Amazon.
