The shield goes against the victim's face and mouth, providing a layer of protection for the rescue breather. The shield now has instruction for use printed clearly where they can be seen during application and use.

The ResQue1st CPR Mask Key Chain is designed to be easily portable, and in fact the small pouch containing each mask comes with an attached key ring. The pouch is about the size of a standard key fob and attaches to any key ring. When needed the CPR mini mask is extracted from the pouch, folded out, and placed over the victim's mouth following the printed instructions. The mask has a one-way valve in the center to ensure one-way airflow, and the combination of mask and valve are engineered to prevent contact with the victim, thus ensuring the protection and safety of the rescue breather.
