Microfiber towel design features
One of the key features of quality microfiber is its fast-drying ability. A cotton terry towel is typically hung out to dry after use. By contrast, microfiber towels can be wrung out to 90% dry. They can either be immediately re-used, and hung out until 100% dry.
While microfiber towels are popular for travel because of their light weight and compact nature, one common design flaw is the failure to include a hanging loop on the towel, or where the hanging loop provided is quite small. Travelers can find themselves in situations with limited space, such as on a camping trip or while staying in the dormitory of a youth hostel. In such situations, it is important to provide a flexible hanging option for the towel that is adaptable to as many circumstances as possible. For example, if the hostel's top-bunk bedpost is the only spot a backpacker can find to hang their towel, then the towel should make that possible. Further, lint from other fabrics and clothes can embed within the microfiber, which can degrade its performance.
