(Health-NewsWire.Net, August 24, 2015 ) Danville, California -- With the end of the summer right around the corner, many parents are getting ready to send their kids off to college. If a teen is bringing a car with them, preparing them to handle driving emergencies is crucial.
Car crashes are already the number one cause of death among young people in America. However, during the summer months, driving dangers can pose an even greater risk. A new survey conducted by Liberty Mutual and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) is showing that teenagers are more likely to engage in potentially dangerous driving behavior during the summer months.
To combat driving dangers, the Department of Motor Vehicles is now recommending that all students keep a first aid kit in their car at all times. Jane Sadler, a Family Practice Physician, says her daughter won't be leaving for school without one.
"Before I send her out the door, I'll equip her with the proper tools and knowledge to manage minor injuries and ailments," says Sadler in an article published in the Dallas Morning News. "After all, Dr. Mom will not be available 24/7, and I certainly cannot fly up to college for a bruise, scrape or minor cold."
To help prepare parents and students for the college season, Verco Auto has just released an innovative first aid kit. The kit includes 100+ indispensable safety items like bandages and alcohol prep pads, as well as crucial extras like wound closure strips, a whistle, and an instant cold pack. The items are housed in a durable, hard shell case with clear pockets that keep contents organized.
The first aid kit is available now on Amazon.
