East African, music group Sauti Sol has been nominated for the African Entertainment Awards USA category, "Hottest Group." Prior to this prestigious nomination, this talented foursome has received great recognition throughout the world.
Sauti Sol is made up of four men who were nominated for, "Hottest Group," due to their unique passion and talent. The members of this great group include Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Austin Chimano, Polycarp Otieno and Savara Mudigi.
With their great sound, Sauti Sol, "mixes their soulful voices with vocal harmonies, guitar riffs and drum rhythm." As they blend different instruments together to create a unique sound, their Kenyan roots are able to be recognized.
As a widely recognized group around the globe, Sauti Sol has created two albums. In 2008, "Manzo" was released followed by "Sol Filosofia," in 2011. The accolades received by Sauti Sol with these two albums created the precedence for their third album, "Live and Die in Afrika." "Live and Die in Afrika," was released in January 2015.
In addition to an album release in 2015, Sauti Sol has received several awards, including, "Best Song in East Africa 'Sura Yako'" at the Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music Awards. Other awards include "Most Downloaded Group (Sauti Sol)," and, "Most Downloaded Single (Sura Yako)" at the 2015 Mdundo Music Awards.
Sauti Sol also received the, "BBC's 1xtra - Top African Act To Watch," award. As music created a platform for Sauti Sol to make a difference, they received the award titling them "Role Models by the Riara Group of Schools."
As philanthropists, Sauti Sol launched the SOMA SOMA Initiative. While being passionate and caring, the intent of this initiative is to better schools by creating, "peer-to-peer mentorship culture amongst school goers throughout Kenya." Believing in peace, the members of Sauti Sol are positive role models. In addition they have also been recognized by such political figures such as Barack Obama.

About African Entertainment Awards USA 2015: The African Entertainment Awards USA is made to showcase and promote the contributions that African businesses and individuals have contributed in the United States and also to create awareness of the issues affecting Africans Diaspora in the United States and the US territories. During the award show several causes will also be promoted. Such organizations include the Cameroon American Council, Essex County College Africana institute, Our Congressman Donald Payne and other recognized institution, the list of organizations noticing the African Entertainment Awards keeps on growing.
The First African Entertainment Awards will be held at the Mary Burch Theater in Essex County College on October 31, 2015 followed by the after party at the Robert Treat Hotel.
