Packages flagged for inspection lead investigators to a barbershop intercepting illegal packages containing synthetic ingredients, leading to the arrest of a former Florida International University student in the honors program. David McConnell received packages for his "party-pill" business at the barbershop to escape detection.
The Miami Herald quotes Florida's U.S attorney Wifredo Ferrer, "There is no typical drug dealer anymore. It's easy to get access to this stuff. It's less dangerous and less risky. These new drug dealers are using the internet, and all they need is a runner to go intercept the package from overseas."
