(Health-NewsWire.Net, October 19, 2015 ) Foley, Alabama -- The annual Preparedness Fair will be conducted on the 17th of October 2015 at the Prescott Valley Event Center. This event is scheduled from 9 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon and the admission is free. This social occasion is hosted by the Prescott Valley Arizona Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The main objective of this yearly celebration is to promote emergency preparedness and sustainable living. There will guest speakers and experts providing demonstrations.
Thee participating educators will be handling group seminars covering topics about how to handle animals during emergency situation, hands-on building of a 72-hour kit, fire making, emergency communication training, gardening, long-term food supplies, wet pack canning, alternative cooking, soap making, emergency water purification and storage, and home security.
Preparedness Fair booths and demonstrations include Central Yavapai Fire District, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, YCSO Search & Rescue Team, The American Red Cross, Area Police Departments, and Arizona Army National Guard. Other participants include YCSO with Rescue 1 Helicopter and Mobile Command Post, Deputy Do-Right and the YCSO K9 team.
Similar event was also held in Ventura County last year. The event was called Emergency Preparedness Fair hosted by Das Williams.
"We never know when, where or how an emergency or disaster will strike," said Assemblymember Williams. "We had a reminder of that not so long ago with the Napa earthquake. The number one key to being able to move forward following such an incident is preparation before it happens. This is why we have gathered these valuable community resources, to help connect people and spur on pre-planning and community-wide preparedness."
This said fair was also supported by County of Ventura Sheriffs Office of Emergency Services, Ventura County Public Health's Emergency Preparedness Office, American Red Cross, Southern California Gas Company, Community Memorial Hospital, St. John's Hospital, and United Way.
