(Health-NewsWire.Net, November 18, 2015 ) Barnstable, MA -- October 19, 2015 - Local Cape Cod business leader Doug Grainger recently attended a fundraiser for Hope Health, noting the level of support from the community. Held August 21, Celebrate Summer Memories was sponsored by the company's Hope Dementia & Alzheimer's Services division and held at the Wequasset Resort and Golf Club in Harwich. The featured speaker was Lisa Genova, New York Times bestselling author of Still Alice, Left Neglected and Love Anthony. Having appeared on various TV shows, Genova travels around the world speaking about Alzheimer's disease, traumatic brain injury, and autism.
The fourth annual event also included hors d'oeuvres and live music. Supporters attended a live and silent auction to back the event's cause. Mark Novota served as honorary chair and Richard Morgano, Hope Dementia & Alzheimer's Services committee member, as event chair.
Sponsors of Celebrate Summer Memories this year included Wequassett Resort and Golf Club, Independence Park, Athena Health Care Systems, Atria Woodbirar, and Harbor Point at Centerville. The generous contributions of these sponsors and others help Hope Dementia & Alzheimer's to continue to provide critical services to those dealing with dementia and Alzheimer's disease on Cape Cod and the surrounding communities.
Paving the Way with Alzheimer's/Dementia Services
Hope Dementia & Alzheimer's Services provides various services for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Also serving community agencies, it used funds raised from Celebrate Summer Memories to support telephone and email help plus memory screenings in the local community. Funds were also used for promoting support groups, grants to give short-term breaks to caregivers, and extending accredited education to healthcare professionals and the community.
"The event was absolutely first class. Everyone certainly enjoyed themselves, but more importantly it was inspiring to see the community coming together to support Hope's Dementia & Alzheimer's Services. My wife Ann and I are grateful for the work they do."
