As it stand the drug courts are disjointed between many presiding judges, and constantly shifting attorneys. Lauten wants to streamline this process by appointing one presiding judge, and a handful of full-time attorneys to tackle the cases. The new "Problem Solving" court would focus on treating the underlying causes of addiction as to positively decline rates of recidivism.
