While this may not sound like big news at first, it seems that this product does offer some features that will allow it to one day compete with "the big boys" in this niche space.

The resulting product is a calf compression sleeve made from copper infused nylon/spandex material. The sleeves are also designed with graduated compression, which provides a higher compression near the ankle which gradually lessens as it moves up the sleeve.
Compression products are becoming more and more popular, especially with runners, cyclist and even nurses. Apparently, the design of these compression sleeves helps increase blood flow to the leg muscles. Runners and nurses both have expressed that compression sleeves not only give support to their legs while they are running or working, they also said that their muscles felt less sore and fatigued during and after using them. Compression products are commonly used on patients in the medical field to increase circulation in the extremities and in the prevention of blood clot formation and swelling.
Apparently, the significance of the copper infused material is that copper ions help reduce the formation of microbial bacteria, which in turn reduces odor and helps prevent some rashes. Some people also swear that copper provides additional healing properties, but there is a great deal of research both pro and con on this subject.
Finally, compression sleeves and garments are becoming more visible with pro/amateur athletes, weekend warriors and working professionals.
