What is a hollow foam roller anyway? A foam roller is a cylindrical shaped tube with a layer of foam on the outside. Foam rollers can be used for self massage and self myofascial release as well as stretching and exercising. Wildside Fitness Equipment is a company based out of Salt Lake City, Utah and is owned and operated by two US Soldiers, one of which is a Certified Personal Trainer. "We wanted to create a product line that enables customers to exercise at home, outdoors or wherever they choose." Said Mike Owen, Co Founder, Wildside Fitness Equipment. The foam roller is lightweight and fairly small. At 13" long by 5" wide and 1.5 pounds, one can easily take it along on their travels. Equipment that is compact and easy to transport is important to the founders as they frequently have to travel for the military. "We are both very in to fitness. You could say our lives may even depend on our level of fitness some days. We wanted something we could use no matter where we are sent to. That's when we did our research and found foam rollers.
