(Health-NewsWire.Net, December 12, 2015 ) I know how it sounds (Yikess....!!! in my head), but yes a recent study said that with more than 1.6 million new cases of cancer arising every year, the cure for cancer has always been a top priority for many researchers. A study have looked to a parasite called Toxoplasma gondii that is basically found in cat feces and probably holds the torch to serve as a cancer vaccine.
What is T. Gondii?
T. Gondi is a single celled parasite that prefers a warm and cozy temperature (especially in your cat's intestines) or any other warm blooded animal. You can stumble upon this bloodsucker while eating undercooked or contaminated meat, drinking polluted water or by coming into contact with cat feces that contain T. Gondii. This usually happens when you clean the litter box.
This bacteria can trigger an ailment called toxoplasmosis that can deliver symptoms such as muscle aches, pains etc. and with people with low immunity system it can cause brain, eye or even organ damage. Though said, majority of people who were infected with T. Gondii have not experienced any symptoms.
As per the latest study by a group of experts from Giesel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, it is claimed that T. Gondii has anti-cancer properties. They explain how this parasite when effectively ingested in the body can fight cancer such as cytotoxic T-cells. As cancerous cells shut down the body's immune system, T. Gondii have the ability to restart it and inhibit the growth of cancer.
Researchers claim that it is certainly not safe to ingest a live parasite in the body of cancer patients since it has the ability to replicate but with those who already have a weakened immune system. This is one of the reasons they created a mutant T. Gondii parasite called “CPS” that cannot replicate making it easier to use as cancer vaccination.
As per David J. Bzik (researcher of the above study),
“Aggressive cancers too often seem like fast moving train wrecks. CPS is the microscopic, but superstrong hero that catches the wayward trains, halts their progression and shrinks them until they disappear”.
They had tested this on lab mice who were dealing with aggressive ovarian cancer and melanoma that resulted in high survival rates. The mutant CPS works effectively as immunotherapy against cancers superior to anything they have seen before.
Experts claim that before testing CPS on humans, there are bit of studies to be conducted as an immunotherapeutic cancer vaccine to know how it works on immune system and eradicate the cancerous cells but currently it seems to hold a good promise.
If you are a pet owner, make sure you wear gloves while cleaning the cat litter to prevent T- Gondii. Make sure you always provide your cat with healthy organic food not to mention fresh food that work best in their body and keep them healthy and fit. Even natural remedies for cats are available online withoutany side effects.
